Statement of Wonderfulness
In Celebration of
Maintenance Labor Coordinator -- UHDS
Without complaint and a smile on his face, he works with integrity and thoughtfulness. He is resilient in difficult situations, always staying committed to the mission. At times he has covered others job duties in addition to his own, but he still manages to be a happy, funny guy that everyone likes to be around.
By all accounts, Gerry Frank is the King of Multi-Tasking. He’s like the hub of a wheel, linked to everyone by providing product, tools, and services as needed. From ordering parts and maintaining inventory, to coordinating student workers, going above and beyond is the norm. Whether it’s parts for food service or landscape equipment, the steam heat or fire alarm system, plaster and paint, you ask and he’s on it. He’ll identify a source; compare prices, order and then track the parts until they’re received.
Gerry has a broad understanding of all the trades, showing he cares enough about the guys and their jobs to learn information that helps him best serve them. He’s a complete team player. One minute he’s helping a contractor with a key for access to a worksite; then answering the phone and connecting one of the guys in the field on his radio; then entering data for a work order on the TMA system, he’s smiling and upbeat, rarely losing his cool.
Extraordinary and conscientious were two of the words used to describe Gerry in all that he does. He also conducts safety meetings, providing materials and sometimes videos to keep everyone up-to-date.
One of Gerry’s nomination supporters said, “We just couldn’t function without him,” and they all wanted you to know how much they appreciate you. University Housing and Dining and OSU as a whole, are lucky to have someone like you.
